Create your own e-learning with Pluvo's authoring tool
The authoring tool is built right into Pluvo, so you don't need anything extra. You build a course from chapters and lessons, add text, images, video, assignments and questions, and publish it to your academy. Prefer to start with AI? Use Pluvo AI, or connect your own AI.
Three ways to start a course
All three end up in the same authoring tool. You choose what suits you, and you can switch along the way.
You start with an empty chapter and build it up the way you want it. If you know the subject, this is often the fastest route: you know what needs to go in, and the tool doesn't get in your way.
Enter a topic and Pluvo AI lays the groundwork: a chapter structure, lesson texts and a first set of questions. You then open it in the authoring tool and make it your course. The AI provides the structure, you provide what's right for your organisation.
Already working with Claude or ChatGPT? Connect it to Pluvo, and what you write there lands in your academy as a real course: chapters, lessons and questions in the right place. You keep working in the conversation you were already having.
Text, images, video and audio
Nobody reads a work instruction in plain text twice. A short video of the machine itself, they will. In a lesson you add formatted text blocks, single images or a gallery with several images side by side, and a quote to make one sentence stand out.You pull video from YouTube or use your own file. Audio works too, for explanations that are quicker to hear than to read. And anything people need to take with them to the workplace, you attach underneath as a download: a checklist, a form, the manual itself. Everything works just as well on a phone on the shop floor as on a laptop.

Templates that save you time
Every new course module starts with the same problem: a blank screen. Templates are ready-made outlines that take that away. You pick an existing structure, add your own content and adjust the order. Whatever doesn't fit, you remove. The content stays yours, because your safety instruction isn't someone else's. A number of templates are ready now, and more are being added all the time.
Import existing courses
Most organisations already have something on the shelf: a SCORM package from an external provider, videos, PDFs, presentations from an earlier round. None of that needs redoing. You upload it and place it alongside the course modules you create yourself, in the same learning journey. That way you build on what's already there instead of next to it. The results land in the same place as everything else, so there's nowhere separate to check.

Frequently asked questions about the authoring tool
Questions about how to create courses? Here are the answers.
What is Pluvo?
Pluvo is a Dutch learning platform (LMS) that helps organizations train employees, manage certifications, and automate learning paths. From e-learning and workshops to compliance and reporting — everything in one environment.
How much does Pluvo cost?
Pluvo offers three plans: Basic, Plus, and Complete. You can see what is included in each plan in the feature overview. Pricing depends on the size of your organization and the plan that best fits your needs. We can discuss this during a consultation.
How long does it take to implement Pluvo?
That depends on your needs. A standard implementation can be live within a few weeks. For more complex projects involving integrations, migrations, and custom work, we guide you every step of the way. You will always have a dedicated contact person to lead you through the process.
Can I try out Pluvo for free?
No, we do not offer a free trial. However, you can schedule a call where we will show you the entire platform and see together if Pluvo is a good fit for your organization. If it is, we will set up your academy.Schedule a call.
What is the difference between an LMS and an LXP?
An LMS (Learning Management System) manages and assigns training, while tracking progress and certifications. An LXP (Learning Experience Platform) adds a personalized learning experience: content tailored to the employee, recommendations, social learning, self-direction, and insights into learning preferences. Pluvo combines both: streamlined management with an engaging learning experience.

From chapter to lesson to question
A course in Pluvo consists of chapters, and a chapter of lessons. Within a lesson you stack blocks: a piece of text, an image, a video, an assignment, a question. You drag them into place and see straight away how it looks to the participant. You work in a draft version, so what's live only changes when you publish. You group chapters as a course grows, and with conditions you decide who sees which part. That way one course can run differently for two job groups.

Six question types, chosen per lesson
Not every question tests the same thing. For each lesson you choose what suits the material.Multiple choice: one or more correct answers, with feedback per answer.Open question: the participant writes their own answer, a supervisor reads along.Fill in the blanks: leave words out of a sentence for the participant to complete. Good for terms and procedures.Ordering: put steps in the right order. Exactly what you want to know for a work instruction.Grouping: drag items to the right category, such as which tool goes with which situation.Self-assessment: no grade, but a mirror. The participant rates themselves and then sees the answer. For each assessment you set how many retakes someone gets and whether there's a time limit. More variety gets you more than a row of multiple-choice questions: you see much better what someone really understands.
Submit, assess and discuss
Some things can't be tested with a question. So let a participant hand in a document, a presentation or a video, and assess it yourself. A sales pitch on film, a completed work plan, a photo of a setup: if you can assess it, it can go in Pluvo. You can also turn it into a group discussion, so participants respond to each other rather than only to the material. It costs you a little more time as a trainer, and it gives you back what a score never shows.

Not everyone starts from the same point
A group starting a training course never knows the same amount. One person has done the job for ten years, another starts on Monday. Put an entry test at the front and let Pluvo decide on that basis who gets which part: those who already know it skip it, those who need it get the fuller version. That spares one person the boredom and the other the feeling of falling behind. And you don't have to maintain two versions of the same course.
You're not locked in
The three routes aren't mutually exclusive. Write your first chapter yourself and let the AI come up with questions for it. Or let the AI draft an outline and rewrite half of it, because you know better how things work at your organisation.Whatever comes in through your own AI, you simply edit afterwards in the authoring tool. And what you create in the authoring tool, you can later expand with AI. It stays one course, wherever you start it.
